Hiking Antelope Canyon
When it comes to picturesque Southwest adventures in Arizona, hiking Antelope Canyon has to be one of the highlights. Located on Native American Lands in Page, Arizona, Antelope Canyon is a slot canyon divided into upper and lower sections that are extremely popular with photographers, hikers, and outdoor enthusiasts.
One such outdoor enthusiast that enjoyed their time hiking Antelope Canyon is fellow travel blogger Julie Dobson at escapingthemidwest.com. Julie has shared her travel experiences with us before offering her insights into her adventures, along with useful tips for fellow adventurers following in her footsteps and has done so once again with her blog post on hiking Antelope Canyon.
The following is an example of a tip Julie shares for budding photographers hiking Antelope Canyon:
“Please note, as there are other tour companies guiding tours, yours will not be the only tour group within the canyon. As a result, it can be difficult to get a photo without people in it. If you desire photos of only landscape, you basically have to forget about the tour and learning about the canyon and just stay behind the group.â€
In her article, Julie goes into great detail about the images seen within the cave walls, the ripples in the sandstone, and the maze of corridors within the canyon itself awaiting those who desire to partake in the same adventure.
“If you are a big fan of the desert, geology or photography, this is an amazing place to visit.â€
